Currency fraud not only undermines governments and financial institutions, but also negatively impacts the businesses that make up the global economy, and the individuals who rely on them.
As copiers and desktop scanners continue to evolve in terms of quality and availability, currency counterfeiting becomes increasingly more prevalent. Today, anyone with a computer and desktop scanner is equipped to be a “casual counterfeiter”—it is no longer an industry restricted to the highly skilled craftsman.
DSS’s currency-grade AuthentiGuard technologies are specifically designed to deter currency counterfeiting and empower authentication.
DSS’s anti-counterfeit technology is the front line of currency security, blocking the ability of the counterfeiter to easily capture and duplicate the graphics of the currency using a copier or desktop scanner.
Laser Moiré™ – Laser Moiré is a counterfeit deterrent that works by embedding hidden patterns into the graphics that cause distortions to the graphics on copies and scans of the banknote.
Block-out™ – Creates a graphic element that prevents color copies from being made.
Pantograph 4000™ – Embeds hidden warning words (such as “VOID”) or images into a background tint of your currency or banknote.
DSS’s overt authentication technology helps financial institutions and business owners differentiate true currency from counterfeit, while the covert authentication features assist financial institutions and law enforcement in verification during investigations.
Prism™ – Prism is a scan and copy resistant authentication feature that works by embedding a word or image in the graphics of a bank note that can only be seen with a handheld viewing lens. Copies and scans of the graphics will not show the prism image with the lens
Phantom™ – Phantom is a self authenticating overt security feature that shows as a solid colored area when viewed straight on. When the banknote is viewed at an angle, this area appears as bars of vibrant colors. Phantom can also be images or words that appear in vibrant color.
Microperf™ – Microperf can be incorporated into any area of a banknote. This self authenticating feature is hidden when viewed normally, but appears when the banknote is viewed with light behind it.
VeriGlow™ – VeriGlow is a covert, 2 step authentication feature. Printed with invisible UV inks, this feature is not visible until viewed with a UV light. Once illuminated with the UV light, a glowing image appears. Then, with the use of the handheld viewing lens, a secondary security image or word appears. This feature cannot be copied or scanned.
