Pharmaceutical / Beverage Industry

Overview:

Our customer, a growing all natural juice processor was looking to replace a labor intensive hand assembled litho-wrapped carrier that needed to be assembled the day before production.

Solution:

Our sales and design team created an auto-erecting paperboard package that could be assembled concurrent with their production and filling operation. This increased production efficiencies as well as provided considerable savings in their overall packaging costs.

We designed a versatile easy to use one piece 6 corner box that gives strong brand identity and can also accommodate a wide assortment of high end baked goods.

Toy Industry

Overview:

A new company approached us in need of everything from R&D, to the manufacture of a foam toy airplane as well as a custom designed package.

Solution:

We designed and tested the actual planes and then manufactured the final product. We then created a custom carton that could be hung, stacked in retail space or mailed to customers via internet sales.

Specialty Foods — Hand Assembled

Overview:

Customer looked to DSS Packaging in an effort to upgrade their hand-assembled carton that included a difficult to place hand affixed lenticular image. They wanted a more efficient and inexpensive marketing and communications package to hold their show premiums.

Solution:

Our Design team developed an Autobottom Box that was quick to erect and included a lenticular image piece that was applied automatically in line during folding & gluing. Newly designed package resulted in significant cost savings while also providing positive placement for each and every lenticular image piece.

CD Mailer

Overview:

Several of our customers required cost saving solutions to their CD packaging and mailing program requirements. With tighter USPS mailing regulations as well as increased postage rates, we were challenged to solve this dilemma.

Solution:

We have developed cost effective automated in-line inserting, pick & place, and tipping production lines to accommodate a myriad of paperboard Media/CD/DVD packaging products and designs that are fully supported by existing dies. We offer a First Class CD/DVD mailer that qualifies for first class mail rates while ensuring that your CD/DVD arrives undamaged. We have the capabilities and experience to assist you from the design stage up to and through completion of your project.

Overview:

Our customer, a premium desert sauce company, was originally looking at three separate boxes, each for a different application.

Solution:

Our consultative sales approach resulted in the creation of one box that met all three of their needs. At DSS Packaging we continue to look for ways to help our customers grow!

Tourism Industry

Overview:

A regional travel bureau needed a creative idea for a premium promotional piece that was suitable for both retail and direct mail.

Solution:

We designed an interactive recipe kit called "Sips and Savors." This piece promoted the Finger Lakes wine region in New York State and included 48 recipe cards, post cards, and maps all contained in a unique and highly functional multi-panel fold-out. The cross marketing capabilities of this product have made it by far our most requested sample piece.

Photo Packaging

Overview:

We were challenged to reduce the total number of individual photo packages from five single use pieces while at the same time creating a stronger brand identity. This was driven by a need to increase workflow at photo operations, reduce inventory levels and streamline storefront locations.

Solution:

By designing two multi-function pieces that did the work of five! We were able to increase both functionality and brand identity while exceeding the expectations of both the marketing and operations departments. These two packages did the work of the previous five packages in that they provided end users with photo packaging that included 1) a photo work order; 2) a pre-numbered customer receipt; 3) a film carrier; 4) an optional pressure sensitive closure device to prevent the loss of product, and; 5) a multi-media storage compartment.

Direct Mail

Overview:

An established premiums company needed an inexpensive solution that would allow them to comply with the new USPS Domestic Rates and Shape Based pricing program that became effective in May of 2007

Solution:

Our design and sales engineers worked with our customer as well as the Federal USPS Mailpiece Design Analysts to assist in establishing mailing standards. Our paperboard mailing inserts ensured that our customers mail-order premiums did not result in a jump to a more expensive mail classification, which positioned them to realize high six figure postage savings.
