Chief Executive Officer

Jeff Ronaldi has 25 years of experience managing and successfully growing technology-based businesses, including, ImageExpo, a division of SPX Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, that provided software to the publishing and transportation industries, Concentric Networks, now XO Communications, and UUNET, now a major part of Verizon.

As Product Manager at UUNET he oversaw the explosive growth of an industry standard-setting product that continues to generate billion dollars in annual revenue.  He was among UUNET’s first 50 employees. Jeff also served as CEO of Newsletters.com which was sold to Marketresearch.com.

As General Manager at ImageExpo Jeff oversaw a $60 million patent infringement verdict against Microsoft.  He also participated on behalf of SSL Services in a $20 million verdict against Citrix, and helped to manage a $50 million verdict against Genzyme.  At Turtle Bay, an IP licensing firm, Jeff was responsible for defining overall strategy and for managing the company's approximately $50 million investment.  Additionally, Jeff served as CEO of Lexington Technology Group, which eventually entered into a merger agreement with Document Security Systems, Inc.


President of DSS, Mr. Bzdick joined the company in 2010 following the Company’s acquisition of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Premier Packaging Corporation, a company which he founded in 1989 and served as the Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Bzdick became a director of Document Security Systems in March 2010.  As President, Bob uses his 29 years of experience in manufacturing operations management to integrate and strengthen DSS’s three production divisions of over 100 employees, to service DSS’s globalizing Fortune 1000 customer-base.  Mr. Bzdick served as Acting Chief Executive Officer of DSS until the close of the merger between the Company and Lexington Technology Group in July 2013

Prior to founding Premier Packaging Corporation, Mr. Bzdick held positions of Controller, Sales Manager, and General Sales Manager at the Rochester, New York division of Boise Cascade, LLC (later Georgia Pacific Corporation).  He is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology’s Business Administration with a degree in Marketing/Finance.

Vice President, General Counsel

Jeff has served as Vice President, General Counsel of DSS since February 2011.  He is responsible for oversight of the company’s corporate governance policies, regulatory compliance, transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, contracts, domestic and foreign intellectual property filings and licensing, litigation strategy, employment matters, and outside counsel relationships.

Prior to joining DSS, Jeff served as a member of Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP’s Business & Finance practice group and as a management executive for Prudential Financial.

Jeff received his law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, located in New York City, and his undergraduate degree from Purdue University in General Management/Marketing.  He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York and Massachusetts.

Jeff is also an avid mountain biker and a past member of the International Mountain Biking Association.

Chief Financial Officer

Phil Jones joined the Company in 2005 as Controller and Principal Accounting Officer and has been the Company’s Chief Financial Officer since May 2009.  Jones also serves as the Company's Vice President of Finance and Treasurer.  Phil has 17 years of experience in the accounting and finance sector and brings a wide range of SEC and public company reporting experience and hands- on operation skills to DSS.

Phil began his career as a CPA at Arthur Andersen and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  He has held financial management positions at Zapata Corporation, a public holding company, and American Fiber Systems, a private telecom company, where he was involved in multiple mergers and acquisitions and capital raises, including the successful spin-off and IPO of Zapata's internet subsidiary.

Jones holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from SUNY Geneseo and a MBA from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Vice President of
Research and Development

Mr. Wicker is responsible for product awareness and the development of solutions for clients' documents and brand packaging needs.  As a member of the Wicker Group from 1991 to 1998, he was involved in security printing licensing and implementation of newly patented technology to 104 forms printers in six countries.

Mr. Wicker brings over 24 years of experience in the commercial printing industry to his position.  He developed trade techniques to provide user-friendly secure technologies, implemented through on-site technical training for web press operators around the country.

Mr. Wicker received U.S. patent No. 5,454,598 for perforations designed to thwart fraud in October 1995.  He also contributed to the development of document security initiatives and introduced "safety paper" to over 400 paper distributors worldwide.

Mr. Wicker created Document Security Consultants, Inc. (DSC) in 1995 to design security documents that applied Wicker technologies. Later Sold DSC to DSS in 2002.

Research and Development /
Emerging Technologies

Mr. Caton directly serves the technical needs of the DSS-patented anti-counterfeiting system with licensees.  He joined DSS in 2004 and has worked closely with Mr. Wicker to develop some of the most sophisticated anti-counterfeiting technology in the world for documents such as currency, car titles, and travelers checks.

Mr. Caton has contributed to new product development and the refinement of existing patents, and has several international patents to his name.

He brings over 29 years of experience in pre-press and printing, 25 of which have been in the security field.

Mr. Caton had consulted for the Wicker Group and Thomas Wicker Enterprises as a DSC partner while continuing his work for a variety of large printers and pre-press houses.
